Angels in the Quran

Angels in the Quran — Jibril, Mikail, Israfil, the Angel of Death and their orders; their duties and the verses in which they appear.

Angels in the Quran

"All praise is due to Allah, Creator of the heavens and earth, who made the angels messengers with wings — two, three, or four."

Fāṭir 35:1

The Quran does not describe the angel — it tells you what it does. Names and tasks; the rest is left to hadith.

Messengers of the Unseen

Jibril brings revelation. Mika'il distributes provision. Munkar-Nakir question the grave. Seven angel roles — seven distinct dimensions.

The Quran defines angels by function, not description. Jibril and Mika'il are named; Harut and Marut are mentioned; the rest are known by role. Details like being created from light come from hadith. This page shows only what the Quran says; everything else is marked ℹ️.
